The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences employs more than 1,400 faculty and graduate teaching assistants and 350 staff. The excellence of the College is dependent on the dedication, service and contributions of these talented individuals. Our faculty are committed to advancing the world's knowledge in literally all areas of scholarship and disseminating that knowledge to our outstanding undergraduate and graduate students. 2010 College Awards : The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is pleased to announce several awards to recognize outstanding graduate students, faculty service, teaching excellence and exemplary advising. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to bring formal recognition, both on campus as well as in the news media, to the excellence in your department. The awards range from $500 to $5,000 each. Nov 20, 2009
Molecular biosciences professor wins HOPE Award : Established by the Class of 1959, the HOPE Award is the only honor given exclusively by students for teaching excellence. Matthew Buechner, associate professor of molecular biosciences, was presented the award by Chancellor Bernadette Gray-Little on Nov. 14 during the KU-Nebraska football game. Winners receive a monetary award and recognition on a permanent plaque displayed in the Kansas Union. Nov 16, 2009
