College Academic Council (CAC)

Description

According to the Bylaws of the College Assembly » (Article II.A), the College Academic Council (CAC) shall:

...act in the name of College Assembly. It will meet at least four times a semester, normally in September, October, November, December, February, March, April, and May and more frequently as the business of the College justifies.


Membership

Membership » comprises elected faculty, graduate and undergraduate students, and representatives of departmental chairs, program directors and unclassified staff.

Documentation of meetings of CAC

CAC agendas are posted on the CLAS website one week before each meeting. Email notice of the posting of the CAC agenda is sent to all CLAS faculty.

CAC minutes are posted on the CLAS website no later than 72 hours after each CAC meeting. Email notice of the posting of CAC minutes is sent to all CLAS faculty.

2012-2013 CAC meetings will be as follows (all meetings are from 4:00-5:00 PM in 210 Strong Hall.)

Description

The Bylaws of the College Assembly » establish the College Assembly as the chief governing body of the College and the College Academic Council (CAC) acts on behalf of the Assembly. The Standing Committees review and recommend action or policies in specific areas to the CAC. The Assembly will meet whenever ten members of the Assembly request such a meeting by means of a signed letter of petition. The Assembly may also be called to meet at the request of the CAC.

Membership

The Assembly’s voting membership » consists the faculty of the College with the rank of Assistant Professor and above who are either tenured or on tenure-track appointments, plus emeritus faculty and elected undergraduate and graduate students.

The College Assembly will meet whenever ten (10) members of the Assembly request such a meeting by means of a signed letter of petition.  The Assembly may also be called to meet at the request of the CAC. Notice via email of at least ten (10) business days must be given before the College Assembly will meet.
