EFFECTIVE DATES BASED ON SUBMISSION TIMELINE

Submit all changes, deletions, or proposals for new courses/ degrees/majors/minors/certificates by OCTOBER 1, 2013 in order for changes to be effective for the Fall 2014 semester

Changes that affect degree/major/minor requirements in any way cannot be made effective prior to Fall 2014, and cannot be required of students whose initial KU Term is prior to the effective term for the changes, regardless of whether a student has officially declared the major or minor (unless a student’s requirement term is changed due to the readmission/time limit to degree completion policy).

The Curricular Changes/Degree Requirements subcommittee of CUSA meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month during the academic year when classes are in session.  (All dates subject to cancellation as necessary)

In order for a proposal to be reviewed at a particular meeting, materials must be received no later than the Tuesday before the meeting date.

The deadline for proposals to be considered for the 2014-2015 catalog is Tuesday, October 1, 2013.

Proposals for new requirements or changes to existing requirements approved for the 2014-2015 catalog will take effect for students whose initial KU term is Fall 2014.

Proposals received after October 1, 2013 will take effect Fall 2015, for students whose KU initial term is Fall 2015.

Role:

  • Review and act on all requests for new courses, deletion of courses, and any changes to existing courses in the College numbered 699 and below.
  • Review and act on requests for KU Core course status for all courses.
  • Review and act on proposals for new undergraduate degrees, majors, minors, or certificates in the College, as well as any changes to or deletions of any of the above.

As necessary, review any requirement or course related policies and procedures to determine appropriateness, which may include, but is not limited to general education
